Alex Rins of Team SUZUKI ECSTAR, riding the GSX-RR, won the MotoGP™ class at Round 18 of the FIM* Road Racing Grand Prix (MotoGP), held on October 16, 2022, at Phillip Island, Australia. -
Although Rins started the race from 10th on the grid and struggled to maintain his pace during the first three laps, he gradually climbed through the field, reaching the podium on Lap 8. On Lap 14, Rins took the lead and then engaged in an intense battle of attacking and defending positions among four riders. He regained first place on the final lap and successfully defended his position through the chequered flag, securing his first victory of the season and his first win in two seasons for both Rins and Team SUZUKI ECSTAR.
This also marked Team SUZUKI ECSTAR's first victory at Phillip Island.
Although Suzuki will end its participation in MotoGP at the end of the 2022 season, we will continue to give our utmost effort to achieve victories in the remaining two races of the season.
